My Story

Worth Unlimited is an incredible charity with a vision that every young person has the opportunity to realise their unlimited worth and potential. It does this by creating spaces where young people are heard, are valued and can grow. I am a Trustee for Worth Unlimited and the work is truly incredible.

Since 1997, Worth has worked alongside young people in multiple locations in the UK, primarily areas of high deprivation. At present, we focus on projects in Waltham Forest, Loughton, Doncaster and Birmingham. Our work includes open-access youth clubs, mentoring, counselling, family support and structured programmes, depending on the needs of each community that we serve.

More details of Worth Unlimited cane be found on our website: https://worthunlimited.co.uk/

Whilst the work that Worth does is incredible and transformative, funding is always an ongoing issue in this sector. Therefore, as a relatively heavy mid-40s man, with knackered knees and a sedantry office job, I've decided to take on a London to Edinburgh to London bike ride between 3 and 8 August 2025. Details of the event can be found here: https://londonedinburghlondon.com/, but the headline is that it is 1,554km (966 miles) and I have 5 days to complete it (whatever the weather).

Safe to say, this is a stupid thing for me to do; it will be a real test of mental resilience, but the knowledge that eyes are on me will help me train (you can follow me on Strava, if you want!) and the thought that my pain will be raising much-needed funds for Worth Unlimited will definitely help drive me forwards.

Thank you so much for anything that you can spare to help Worth Unlimited continue its amazing work!
